The Pharmacy Contraception Service was setup to offer people a greater choice of where they can access oral contraception.

Obtaining oral contraception through your pharmacy is a fast and convenient method, as it doesn’t require an appointment.

Who is the service eligible for?

The service is available to women who are looking:

  1. for a repeat supply of their current form of oral contraception; or
  2. to start taking oral contraception for the first time.

What does the service cost?

The NHS Pharmacy Contraception Service is available free of charge to all patients.
There is no charge for the consultation or supply of oral contraception.

How to use this service

Visit the pharmacy and ask to speak with the pharmacist about oral contraception. Our pharmacist will go through a short consultation from the privacy of our consultation room, before supplying oral contraception.
