What is appliance dispesning?

Appliance dispensing is very similar to regular prescription dispensing. Your pharmacy can provide a range of products and items to you, or any patient, which are required to help with the management of a condition. These items can be sourced and provided directly by the pharmacy, or they might us a dispensing appliance contractor (DAC) who they are partnered with. If the pharmacy uses a DAC, they will provide the service directly to you.

Appliance dispending is particularly helpful for patients who regularly need the supply of an item to help with the management of a condition. You won’t need to visit your GP each time you need new/replacement items, the pharmacy can take care of this for you.

If you are using our appliance dispending service, please contact us a few days before you need more/replacement items. This allows us to arrange for a prescription from your GP.
